Artist Se-yeon (Ichigo) has successfully concluded her special solo exhibition, held from March 20 to 22 at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, presented by Haebeach Gallery as part of the “Unknown Vibe” art fair.

Conceived as an immersive spatial experience, the exhibition unfolded within a private hotel suite, where painting, sculpture, media, scent, and sound were seamlessly integrated. The suite was structured into distinct yet interconnected zones, each offering a unique sensory encounter and collectively forming a spatial translation of emotional frequencies.

A dedicated media screening room featured AI-reinterpreted versions of the artist’s signature “hormonal paintings,” transformed into time-based visual sequences through digital algorithms. These works were projected across the walls, creating a dynamic environment where static painting evolved into moving image.

Adjacent to this, a separate room presented the new Affective Bloom series, enveloped in subtle floral scents. The space evoked the sensation of emotions physically unfolding and blooming, offering visitors an immersive and synesthetic experience.

At the center of the exhibition stood a large-scale 100F painting, created while listening to the music of Frédéric Chopin. The work reflects the artist’s deep engagement with emotional resonance and rhythm. Throughout the living room space, Chopin’s Nocturnes were played continuously, filling the suite with a contemplative and atmospheric soundscape.

Through the interplay of visual, auditory, and olfactory elements, the exhibition invited visitors not only to view the works, but to feel, hear, and inhabit them—transforming the act of viewing into a fully embodied experience.

The exhibition attracted a steady flow of collectors and visitors from both Korea and abroad, with multiple works sold early in the fair. Following its conclusion, the artist received numerous collaboration proposals from galleries, reinforcing her position as a rapidly rising figure in the contemporary art scene.

In addition, collaborations with F&B, lifestyle, and technology brands were seamlessly integrated into the exhibition environment, proposing a model in which art extends into everyday sensory experience.

Following the successful presentation in Seoul, Se-yeon (Ichigo) will expand her international presence with invitations to the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong and an upcoming art fair in New York. The artist will be present on-site, engaging directly with global audiences and collectors.

“Emotion exists as a signal prior to language,” the artist states.

“My work is an attempt to translate that signal into visual and spatial form.”
