ArtToken announced on the 23rd that a solo exhibition, ‘Super, Baby, Forever’ by New York-based artist Hakkyun Kim, will be held at SPACE 2R2 located in Samsung-dong, Seoul, from the 27th of this month to November 3rd, in celebration of the artist’s visit to Korea.
Through this exhibition, artist Hakkyun Kim aims to convey the theme of 'resurrection of humanity' with a humorous touch, using the character ‘SuperBaby’ as a medium. Post-pandemic, the artist reflects on his own ego, highlighting the fragility of humanity in the face of the ‘divine’. However, he also illustrates humanity’s journey towards finding hope, resurrection, and striving infinitely forward again through original paintings, sculptures, and 3D digital works.
Marking this personal exhibition, Kim is planning to transform his physical artworks into NFT ART, in collaboration with ArtToken NFT STUDIO. Jeongwon Kim, the Art Content Director of ArtToken who planned this exhibition, stated, “Through the reincarnation of Kim Hakkyun’s worldview into NFT ART, we aim to create an opportunity to introduce his work globally, which was previously only accessible to a limited audience in the regions where the artist was active.”
Jisook Hong, the representative of ArtToken, expressed, “With the exhibition of artist Hakkyun Kim, ArtToken aims to actively support the digital archiving of works by global artists through NFTs. We plan to expand our global networking through the LA Art Show and Canadian exhibition planning next year, as well as through international open calls.”
